  1. Personal Mail in General Conferences

  3. If you choose not to have a Personal mail conference then
  4. Power-QWK offers you the choice of reading Personal mail either
  5. in order of arrival, intermixed with Public mail, or on its own
  6. either altogether when you first select Messages from the Topics
  7. Menu or conference-by-conference as each conference is selected
  8. from the Conference Selection Menu.

  10. If however you choose to have a Personal mail conference then
  11. you will normally read your Personal mail by entering that
  12. conference. This means that, potentially, you will read Personal
  13. messages twice, first in the Personal conference then again in
  14. the general conferences.

  16. If you ask for Personal messages to be marked as read in general
  17. conferences then you will only read them once by default, in the
  18. Personal conference. This has the side-effect that if a Personal
  19. message forms part of a conversational thread which includes
  20. Public messages then, when you read the general conference, you
  21. will see only the Public messages and 'lose the thread' unless
  22. you switch Personal marking off again.

  24. Marking of Personal messages in general conferences can be toggled
  25. on and off within the Messages topic by pressing the + (plus) and
  26. - (minus) keys whenever there is a message on the screen.
